Lombardi Women benefits Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and its Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research. For 19 years, the Washington area’s most influential women have gathered annually to support miracle-making science at Georgetown Lombardi. Today, Lombardi Women’s unique spirit and sense of community have made it one of the largest and most sought-after events in the region. Over $5 million has been raised by Lombardi Women in support of pioneering research  – work that fuels life-saving treatments and advances in compassionate care.

Lombardi Women benefits Georgetown Lombardi’s Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research. At Nina Hyde, dedicated scientists and physicians uncover the biological basis of breast cancer, and work toward its prevention and cure.

The Georgetown Lombardi Difference

Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is Washington DC’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. 

This extremely selective designation is awarded when cancer centers meet the high qualifications for:

Lombardi Women Celebrate Breast Cancer Patients and Researchers

(October 4, 2024) — From its humble beginnings 18 years ago with a group of women at the Palm restaurant in Tysons Corner, Lombardi Women: Connecting for a Cure has grown into a fundraising powerhouse, netting more than $5 million in donations for breast cancer research at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.

(April 19, 2023) — Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center’s newly dedicated Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention brings renewed hope that those who have been historically underserved in the Washington, DC, area will now have access to more cancer-related services, potentially turning the tide on the high rate of cancer in the city.

Lombardi Women Event Brings Together Local Women to Support Breast Cancer Research

(October 7, 2022) — Held in person for the first time since 2019, the 16th Annual Lombardi Women event brought together 450 women and 43 sponsoring companies from across the Washington area. The event took place October 6 at the Pavilions at Wolf Trap National Park.
